I used to daily a 2001 Jeep Cherokee XJ, I currently daily a 2009 Smart Car. That is all.

That’s quite a drastic change in cars. Why the shift and do you still have the XJ?

You should’ve issued a trigger warning before making this post. As a person who is 1/256 Cherokee, identifies as Native American on exams and surveys, and is Buzzfeed’s Native American specialist, I’m deeply triggered by you associating a car with my strong heritage. After all of these Confederate flags are taken down, we will need to complain to Jeep for coming up with such an ethnically insensitive name.
(Major sarcasm. Just trying to be funny, sorry. I’m not actually part Cherokee, not that I know of, but small hints of Cherokee heritage are common in my area).

Seriously why a smart car? What advantages does it have over a 5 year old Civic? Yeah it gets a little worse MPG than the smart car, but you have a back seat and trunk.
Shit better yet a motorcycle. Once you can learn to ride with someone on the back you can carry just as many people with better MPG.

This made me laugh and as a millennial I’ve been waiting for the actual person here in the gawkerverse to make it happen.

I used to DD a inline six, RWD, four door monster (sounds like a BMW description). Now I drive a RWD, Rear Engined, German-Swiss-French, automated manual (hhnnnggghh) ode to European colonization and globalization (sounds like a supercar description). Yet they are a Jeep and a Smart Car.

In seat comfort, the Smart held a slight edge, but the Honda suits me better overall. I can now see *under* my rearview mirror when I’m scanning to the right for cross traffic, and I don’t have to hunch down and lean forward to see traffic lights.
And, yes, the Honda goes over bumps with better composure.
